Weight Watchers & Made to Crave....

I'm an all or nothing person and sometimes that is good, but most of the time it isn't. For example this will be like the hundreth time I have tried to lose weight. I have posted several times with starts and then don't post again because I have failed yet again. You see my problem is I think I have to fix everything right away. Even in my relationship with Christ. I will get inspired and then think well if i'm not doing an hour bible study every day and i'm not praying over my kids for an hour a day etc... then I'm just not a good Christian. What the Lord is teaching me right now is to take baby steps. Start out with making sure I do a devotional EVERY day. Don't get caught up in how long but make the committment and do it every day.

So I am applying the same to weight loss. Baby steps. I am going to start by drinking more water.... more physical activity and to help me along I joined Weight Watchers and started the Made to Crave Bible Study at my church 2 weeks ago. I am not going to set a huge goal like being a certain weight by a certain time because then I risk feeling like I have failed, instead if I make these small changes then over time I am going to reach that ultimate goal. What's most important is I make lifestyle changes and not just quick fixes to hurry and lose the weight only to gain it back because I never really changed anything.

Everyone is different and so the weight loss journey is different for each and every one of us, this is just how I feel it will work best for me and what God is teaching me.

I did lose 3.2 my first week of Weight Watchers and I'm excited to see it continue to go down! :-) I'm even learning to love veggies! :-)

So please say a prayer for me as I go on this journey.

Thanks

New Years Eve and something I can't live without!

After doing 2 serious post I wanted to lighten things up a bit :-)

New Years eve keeps getting more fun each year as the kids get older. Next year even Jonathan might get to stay up to enjoy the fun and games :-) It will be a few years for anna to be able to join in.

When I was growing up New Years Eve was always a lot of fun. My family would get sausage, cheese and crackers, some other snacks and we would all play board games and then watch the ball drop. So we are starting the same traditions with my family.

It was fun when it was just me and mike but now that the kids can enjoy it with us it's really neat. So here are a few pictures of us enjoying some New Years Eve fun.

Playing the game Trouble that Joseph got for Christmas.

This is one of many wii games we all played together. This one is Sonic/Mario olympic games :-)

Now something I get every year for Christmas that I could not live without... ok I guess I could but it sure makes life simpler for me is my Moms Plan It Calendar,

We have 4 kids in the house right now and 2 parents so there is room for each of our names, but if you have more children mom and dad could share a line if needed. It's great because at a glimpse you can see if anyones activities conflict and as your making appointments you can easily see what other family members having going on the same day. It also comes with a page of stickers and in the back of calendar has a space for mom and dad's info for babysitter as well as important information. It also has a pocket at the bottom that I keep invitations, sports schedules etc.

So if you don't have one.... you should get one! :-) Here is just one place to get it, but it's available a lot of different places.

My healer....

Sometimes when we are faced with the evil of this world.... we forget....well "I" sometimes forget..... I have a healer.... someone who is with me through it all.... I came across this song today.... and it touched my heart.....

You hold my very moment
You calm my raging seas
You walk with me through fire
And heal all my disease
I trust in You, I trust in You

I believe You're my healer
I believe You are all I need
I believe
And I believe You're my portion
I believe You're more than enough for me
Jesus You're all I need

Nothing is impossible for You
Nothing is impossible
Nothing is impossible for You
You hold my world in Your hands
Nothing is impossible for You
Nothing is impossible
Nothing is impossible for You
You hold my world in Your hands
